harmonizer
A harmonizer is an effects device or pedal type that creates pitch-shifted harmonies from the input signal. The Beetronics Swarm, for example, is a square-wave fuzz harmonizer that multiplies and divides the signal's frequency to create pitch-shifted layers and modulated chaos1. Harmonizer functions also appear combined with other effects, as in the Catalinbread Coriolis Effect, described as a sustainer, wah, filter, pitch shifter, and harmonizer rolled into one2, and the FOMOfx Virtual Jeff, labeled a pitch shifter, octaver, and harmonizer3. Eventide is closely associated with the name, with processors such as the H910, H949, and H3000 Harmonizer units4, and the H9 Harmonizer pedal, which can run all of Eventide's stompbox effects5.
