looper

Loopers range from compact units like the DigiTech JamMan Solo, designed for guitarists or bassists wanting a full-featured looper in a small form¹, to stereo models such as the TC Electronic Ditto Stereo Looper, which records 24-bit uncompressed audio in stereo². Loop time can be substantial, as with the Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai, which offers up to a full 30 seconds of loop time³. Some designs treat looping more experimentally: the MWFX Judder switches between record and playback to create choppy, instantly renewable loops on the fly⁴, and the Free The Tone Motion Loop ML-1L uses random processing of sampled waveforms so its short looper can be handled like a musical instrument⁵. Looping is also combined with delay in pedals like the Keeley Eccos delay/looper⁶ and the TC Electronic Flashback X4 Delay/Looper⁷.
