The Sunakake Gain Booster & Overdrive is a booster and overdrive pedal from the Japanese manufacturer 320design, a maker Delicious Audio described as obscure. It does two jobs in one box: as an overdrive it delivers what the write-up calls "a crunch like a saturated tube amp," and as a booster it can be shaped with Tone and Bass controls "to create a thick and powerful sound." The pedal is also described as useful for bass guitar1.
What it does
The Sunakake covers two related roles. In overdrive mode, the pedal's crunch is described as sitting in saturated tube amp territory, the kind of grit players reach for when pushing an amp or adding edge to a clean tone. In booster mode, the Tone and Bass controls shape the boosted signal, letting the player dial in a thick and powerful sound rather than a flat volume lift1.
That tone shaping is what separates it from a straight boost pedal: the Bass control means the boost can be voiced, not just raised. And because the circuit is described as useful for bass guitar, it can sit on a bass pedal board as well as a guitar one1.

Background
The Sunakake Gain Booster & Overdrive pairs a booster stage with an overdrive, and the booster side can be shaped through the pedal's tone and bass controls1. The pedal is housed in a 320design original die cast aluminum case1.
The pedal is built in a 320design original die cast aluminum case, the same style of housing the maker uses across its pedals1.
"The Sunakake by 320design is a simple yet versatile booster and gritty sound overdrive pedal."
