The Bassics Cruncher is a distortion stompbox from Bassics, aimed at bass players who want grit and saturation on top of their clean low end1. It sits in a Bassics line that ranges from a distortion stompbox to an EQ controller, and each pedal in the range lists for GBP 1991.
What it does
The Cruncher adds distorted character to a bass signal, and its control set is built around keeping the low end usable while adding drive. It carries the usual Gain, Output and Blend knobs1. The Blend knob is the key one for bass: it mixes the distorted signal with your clean tone, so you can dial in as much crunch as you want without losing the foundation of the bass sound. Gain sets the amount of drive, and Output sets the overall level.
