The Sunbros is a pedal from Blackskycraft that puts two effects in one box: tremolo and reverb. Blackskycraft describes it as a design that "emulates a blown out spring reverb with 3-way, 3-path amplitude modulation. Grungy, gritty and chimey with plenty of tweakable pulse on tap." In other words, it aims for the character of an overdriven spring reverb tank, with the tremolo and reverb interacting through amplitude modulation rather than sitting side by side as separate effects.1
It sits in the overlap between tremolo pedals and reverb pedals, and players who like the sound of a pushed spring tank will find it closer to that than to a clean studio reverb1.
Circuit and power
The Sunbros runs an analog circuit, which matters for players who prefer to keep their signal path free of digital conversion. It is powered from a 9V DC supply with a center negative plug, the standard pedalboard supply format.1
The pedal's specifications list 9V DC, center negative power. As with any pedal without a stated battery option, plan to use an isolated supply on your board.
