The CMC BFF is a filter fuzz pedal from CMC, a circuit that combines fuzz distortion with filtering in one box. It sits at the meeting point of two effect families players usually think of separately: the saturated sustain of a fuzz pedal and the tonal shaping of a filter pedal.1

What it does

The BFF is described by its maker simply as a "FILTER FUZZ": a fuzz circuit with filtering built in, so a player can shape which part of the fuzzed signal comes through rather than running a separate fuzz and filter in series.1

Circuit and power

The pedal is an analog design, and it runs from a 9V DC supply with a center negative plug, the standard arrangement for most pedalboard power supplies.1

The BFF takes 9V DC, center negative. As with any pedal with this polarity, it is worth keeping it on its own correctly polarized outlet rather than a reversed or mismatched supply.
