The Damnation Audio Contour Pre is a preamp pedal made by Damnation Audio, a company that describes itself around heavy bass effects. It sits in the preamp category: a pedal placed early in the signal chain to shape the core tone of a bass or guitar before any overdrive pedals, distortion pedals or other effects downstream. You can read more about the category on the Preamp Pedals page.1
Availability
The Contour Pre is no longer made. Damnation Audio's own product page marks it as sold out and states plainly: "Posted here for posterity. Long discontinued."1 The page remains online as a reference, and the maker points players to a download location for the manuals, which is where a player who already owns one would find the official documentation for the pedal.1
For players looking at Damnation Audio gear that is still in production, the company's Damnation Audio GMP-1 is covered on its own page.
Questions
Is the Damnation Audio Contour Pre still available?
No. Damnation Audio describes the Contour Pre as long discontinued, and the product page shows it as sold out. The maker has kept the page posted for posterity, so players can still find the reference material, including a link to download the manuals, but the pedal itself is no longer in production or in stock.
What did the Contour Pre cost when it was sold?
Damnation Audio listed the Contour Pre at $199.00 USD on its product page. That figure is the maker's own list price, shown alongside the sold-out status on the page the company keeps up for a pedal it describes as long discontinued.
