The Decibelics Golden Royale Dual Channel Overdrive is a dual-channel overdrive built around two Decibelics Golden Horse circuits, labeled A and B, in a single enclosure. Each channel carries its own Gain, Level, Tone, Bass and Clipping controls, and the two channels can be used individually or stacked. Delicious Audio reported the pedal as newly released on January 8, 20241. Guitar Pedal X listed it in September 2025 at €338 / $3722.
What it does
The Golden Royale takes the Golden Horse, Decibelics' mini Klon-style overdrive1, and doubles it. Each channel is a complete Golden Horse circuit with its own footswitch, and the two can be run separately or stacked for more gain. On top of the original circuit, each side adds two switches that extend what the pedal can do: a Bass Boost and an alternate clipping option. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson described it as "a Dual-Channel Edition further enhanced by a couple of mods - a useful Bass Boost (a la Tumnus), and a different clipping"2.
The pedal also keeps a detail from the original circuit: the same tantalum capacitor in position C161.
Controls
Each channel carries the same set of controls2:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Gain | Drive amount for that channel |
| Level | Output level for that channel |
| Tone | Tone shaping for that channel |
| Bass switch | Original / Bass Boost: to the right, adds a Bass Boost with significant low-end content while keeping everything tight and articulate1 |
| Clipping switch | Original / Schottky + LEDs: to the right, Channel A gets a combination of Schottky Silicon Diodes, while Channel B gets a combination of Schottky and Low Fv LEDs1 |
| Channel footswitch | Engages that channel |
With the switches to the left, each side runs the original Golden Horse voicing; to the right, the Bass Boost and the alternate clipping come in1.
The two channels are not identical when the Clipping switch is engaged: Channel A pairs Schottky Silicon Diodes, while Channel B pairs Schottky with Low Fv LEDs, so the two sides clip differently with the switch to the right1.
Where it came from
The Golden Royale is an extension of the Golden Horse line. The single-channel Decibelics Golden Horse is a mini Klon-style overdrive3, and the Royale doubles that circuit into a two-channel pedal with the added Bass Boost and clipping mods21. It sits alongside Decibelics' other multi-channel and extended-range pedals, such as the Decibelics Rivus Overdrive, a mini BluesBreaker-style overdrive.

Questions
What is the Decibelics Golden Royale?
It is a dual-channel overdrive consisting of two Decibelics Golden Horse circuits, labeled A and B, in one enclosure. The channels can be used individually or stacked, and each side carries its own Gain, Level and Tone controls plus Bass and Clipping switches. Delicious Audio reported it as newly released on January 8, 2024, built to order at over $500 at that time.
How do the Bass and Clipping switches work?
Each channel has a Bass switch and a Clipping switch. With the Bass switch to the right, that side gets a Bass Boost that adds significant low-end content while keeping everything tight and articulate. With the Clipping switch to the right, Channel A uses a combination of Schottky Silicon Diodes, while Channel B uses a combination of Schottky and Low Fv LEDs. Switched the other way, each side runs the original Golden Horse clipping.
