Decibelics Reverend V1 Mini Expandora

The Decibelics Reverend V1 Mini Expandora is a compact overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedal from Decibelics that takes the circuit of the Bixonic Expandora and fits it into a mini enclosure. Guitar Pedal X's reviewer Stefan Karlsson described the task as "squeezing the complex Bixonic Expandora into a mini enclosure", and called the result "a fantastic pedal".¹

What it does

The pedal covers four gain stages in one box, selected across its modes¹:

• Crunch
• Overdrive
• Distortion
• Forbidden Fuzz

That range puts it across the territory of overdrive pedals, distortion pedals and fuzz pedals, with the Expandora's fuzz mode at the top of the gain range.¹

Versions and related pedals

The V1 Mini has since been followed by other Reverend models from Decibelics:

• The Reverend V1 Mini: an overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedal based on the Bixonic Expandora, built in a mini enclosure. Decibelics described the project as "squeezing the complex Bixonic Expandora into a mini enclosure."¹
• Modes: the pedal covers four settings, Crunch, Overdrive, Distortion and Forbidden Fuzz, with the maker noting it delivers "more even and consistent output across all 4 modes - Crunch, Overdrive, Distortion, and Forbidden Fuzz!"¹
