The Drunk Beaver Fluff Octave Fuzz is a hand-built fuzz pedal from Ukrainian maker Drunk Beaver, released in October 2021. It is a take on the Violet Ram's Head Muff, the violet-cased era of the Big Muff circuit, with an added upper octave stage and a boost stage. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson described it as "essentially a Boosted Octave Muff", placing it among the octave and fuzz pedals players reach for when they want Big Muff-style sustain with octave-up texture on top1.
What it does
The pedal stacks three ideas in one box: the Muff-style fuzz core, an upper octave stage, and a boost. That combination lets a player go from thick, sustaining Muff tones into octave-up fuzz textures without chaining separate pedals. It belongs to the broader family of Fuzz Pedals, and its octave function sits alongside dedicated Octave & Pitch Pedals1.
Karlsson was plainly attached to it: "The Fluff Octave Fuzz is one of my very favourite Drunk Beaver pedals"1.
Availability
The Fluff Octave Fuzz is no longer in production. Karlsson wrote in August 2024 that "My favourite Fluff Octave Fuzz was discontinued around 1 year ago now", which puts its end of production around mid-20231.
The Fluff Octave Fuzz sits in a wider line of Drunk Beaver fuzz circuits. Guitar Pedal X notes that the Drunk Beaver Seattle Driver follows Drunk Beaver's Fluff Octave Fuzz (October 2021), the Drunk Beaver Mykolaiv Grunge (October 2022) and the Big Grunge1. Other Drunk Beaver fuzzes covered on this site include the Drunk Beaver Secret Sauce, the Drunk Beaver Taras Bulba V2, the Drunk Beaver Poltava DOA Muff and the Drunk Beaver Kupiansk Sub Fuzz, the last of which works in the opposite direction, pairing twin sub-octave voices with its fuzz1.

Questions
Is the Drunk Beaver Fluff Octave Fuzz still available?
No. Guitar Pedal X's Stefan Karlsson noted in August 2024 that the Fluff Octave Fuzz had been discontinued around a year earlier, so it is no longer in production. Drunk Beaver builds its pedals in small batches, so used units and occasional successor circuits, such as the Seattle Driver, are where players look now.
What kind of fuzz is the Fluff Octave Fuzz?
It is a take on the Violet Ram's Head Muff, the violet-cased era of the Big Muff circuit, with an added upper octave stage and a boost stage. Guitar Pedal X described it as essentially a boosted octave Muff, so it covers Big Muff-style sustain with octave-up texture on top.
