The Electric Love Pedals Overdrive is an overdrive pedal built around a Bluesbreaker-type circuit, the same family of design that takes its name from the Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal and is known for a relatively transparent, low- to medium-gain push. Ben Carlin, writing on Pedal of the Day, noted that "the Overdrive features a Bluesbreaker-type circuit"1.

The pedal is not sold on its own. It is one of three effects offered together by the maker: "The Electric Love Pedals Fuzz, Overdrive & Delay are being sold as a set," so a player picking up the Overdrive gets it alongside the company's Fuzz and Delay pedals1.

Power and headroom

One detail sets the power situation apart from a typical overdrive pedal: the circuit tolerates a higher supply voltage. "The overdrive pedal can run off 18 volts if you want more headroom," Carlin writes1. Headroom, in this context, is the amount of clean signal the pedal can pass before it starts to clip on its own, so an 18V supply can give a cleaner, more open response at the top end while the Bluesbreaker-style circuit still does its own soft clipping into the amp.

The Overdrive is sold only as part of the three-pedal Fuzz, Overdrive and Delay set, not as a single pedal1.
