Erica Synths Fusionbox

The Erica Synths Fusionbox is a multi-functional analog effects unit that puts three classic bucket-brigade effects in one box: delay, flanger and chorus, all built on BBD chips. On top of that, it carries a tube overdrive stage in the delay output and feedback path, so the overdrive shapes the delayed signal and the repeats as they feed back through the circuit¹.

MusicRadar reported the Fusionbox as available from the Erica Synths website when it was announced in May 2017¹.

What it does

The Fusionbox's three effects share the same BBD chip foundation, the analog delay chips that give vintage echo and modulation units their character. What sets the unit apart is where the tube overdrive sits: in the delay output and feedback path rather than ahead of the effects, meaning it acts on the repeats themselves¹.

Its effects break down like this:

• Delay: BBD chip-based analog delay, with the tube overdrive acting on the output and feedback path
• Flanger: BBD chip-based flanging
• Chorus: BBD chip-based chorus
• Tube overdrive: placed in the delay output and feedback path¹
