The Farm Agaric Phaser is a phaser from Farm Pedals, described by Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio as "this intriguing double phaser with a vintage vibe." The idea is two phasers in one enclosure: rather than a single sweeping effect, the pedal runs two phasing circuits whose interaction can be changed on the fly with the footswitches. It was demoed as one of Farm Pedals' newer stompboxes at the Brooklyn Stompbox Exhibit in 20181.
Two phasers and how they interact
The core of the pedal is the relationship between its two phasers. De Gregorio's demo describes the two states plainly: "When the light is off the phasers cycle together and cycle more deeply. When the D is engaged the phasers stop cycling together and start crossing"1. In other words, the D footswitch chooses between the two phasers moving in step, for a deeper combined sweep, and the two phasers moving against each other.
With Mirror engaged and the speed set very low or very high, De Gregorio notes a distinctive behavior: "When set at a very low or high speed the one phaser pulses quickly while the other one makes big sweeps underneath"1.
Controls
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| D footswitch (left) | Toggles between the phasers cycling together and more deeply (light off) and the phasers crossing against each other (engaged)1 |
| Mirror footswitch | Switches the speed of the first phaser12 |
From Agaric to Fly Agaric
The pedal grew into a production model under the name Farm Pedals Fly Agaric. In July 2019, Guitar World reported that Farm Pedals had announced the first production run of the Fly Agaric Phaser, which had previously been available only in small-batch hand-wired versions2.
Guitar World describes the Fly Agaric as "a vintage, vibe voiced, four-stage" phaser with two independent LFOs. It features two knobs, each dedicated to controlling one LFO, as well as two footswitches: the left footswitch mirror switches the speed of the first LFO, creating textural cross-phasing on the fly, while the right footswitch engages the pedal2.

Questions
What does the Mirror switch do on the Farm Agaric Phaser?
According to Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio, the Mirror footswitch switches the speed of the first phaser. With Mirror engaged at a very low or high speed, one phaser pulses quickly while the other makes big sweeps underneath, producing textural cross-phasing on the fly.
What does the D footswitch do on the Farm Pedals phaser?
The left D footswitch is where the pedal's intrigue lies, per Delicious Audio. When the light is off, the two phasers cycle together and cycle more deeply. When D is engaged, the phasers stop cycling together and start crossing against each other instead.
Is the Farm Agaric Phaser the same as the Fly Agaric Phaser?
They are closely related. Delicious Audio demoed the Agaric Phaser, a double phaser with a vintage vibe, at the Brooklyn Stompbox Exhibit in 2018. In July 2019, Guitar World reported Farm Pedals announcing the first production run of the Fly Agaric Phaser, previously available only in small-batch hand-wired versions.
How many stages does the Fly Agaric Phaser have?
Guitar World describes the Fly Agaric as a vintage, vibe voiced, four-stage phaser with two independent LFOs, announced in its first production run in July 2019.
Does the Farm Agaric Phaser have two LFOs?
Yes. Guitar World reports that the Fly Agaric Phaser is a four-stage phaser with two independent LFOs, with two knobs each dedicated to controlling one LFO, plus two footswitches.
