FoxGear Anubi Ambient

The FoxGear Anubi Ambient is a multi-effects pedal from FoxGear that gathers ambience-related effects in one unit: reverb, delay, shimmer and chorus. It comes in a blue, pedalboard-friendly enclosure, with a list price of $349 USD¹².

What it does

Guitar.com described the pedal's scope plainly: "The Anubi Ambient pedal houses more ambience-related effects such as reverb, delay, shimmer and chorus"¹. For a player, that means one pedal covering the time-based and atmospheric effects that would otherwise take several separate units, from straight reverb and delay to shimmer, the octave-up reverb sound associated with big ambient swells, plus chorus for movement.

Guitar World's report of the launch described the hardware the same way: "Loaded into the blue Ambient pedal are reverb, delay, shimmer and chorus effects"². The enclosure is described as pedalboard-friendly, so it is sized to sit alongside standard pedals rather than as a floor unit².

The Anubi Series and its history

FoxGear's Anubi Series pairs the Anubi Ambient, which covers ambience effects, with the Anubi Modulation, which covers modulation. The Anubi Ambient houses reverb, delay, shimmer and chorus, and both pedals were reported available at $349 each¹².

At the time of the announcement, FoxGear also hinted at more Anubi Series devices to come, suggesting additional units in new colors were on the way².
