The GOKKO PLEXIBOX, model GK-36, is an overdrive pedal from Gokko. Gokko positions it as a two-purpose box: in front of an amplifier it adds British overdrive character to your existing amp tone, and it can also be connected directly into a recording interface, mixer, or computer for direct recording without an amplifier at all1.
What it does
Gokko describes the pedal's two ways of working:
- In front of an amp: adds British overdrive character to the sound of the amplifier you already have1.
- Direct recording: connects straight into a recording interface, mixer, or computer, so you can record without an amplifier1.
The British overdrive character Gokko refers to is the sound associated with classic UK amp designs, which players often reach for when they want a warm, mid-forward drive rather than a scooped or high-gain distortion. For more on the category, see overdrive pedals; for heavier clipping, see distortion pedals. Gokko also makes other drive boxes, including the GOKKO VINTAGEBOX, the Gokko PAZUZU OVERDRIVE, and the GOKKO HI GAIN Box.
