The GUPtech Bass Bone Gold Rush Edition is a one-off version of the Bass Bone, the company's bass preamp and overdrive pedal. GUPtech describes it as exactly the same circuit as the original Bass Bone, housed in a unique gold box, and states that only one will ever exist1. The maker lists it at £109.00 GBP, and as of 26 October 2026 the product page shows it as sold out1.
What it does
The Gold Rush Edition is not a new design. GUPtech's product page states plainly that it carries "Exactly the same circuit as the original GUPtech Bass Bone, in a unique Gold box"1. That means everything a player knows about the Bass Bone applies here: it is a bass preamp and overdrive in one box, built for shaping a bass signal and adding drive. For players comparing it with other drive options, the Bass Bone sits in the same broad territory as overdrive pedals and preamp pedals for bass.
The Gold Rush Edition exists as a collector's take on a working pedal rather than a separate product line. Because only one unit was made, it is not something a player can shop for; the regular Bass Bone is the production version of the same circuit1.
GUPtech lists the Gold Rush Edition as sold out, and the maker states only one will ever exist. Players looking for this circuit in a pedal they can buy would look at the standard Bass Bone instead.
Background and where it came from
GUPtech builds its pedals in Saguenay, Québec, Canada, and states that all of its pedals are made by the company there1. The Gold Rush Edition is a later presentation of the Bass Bone design: the company describes it as exactly the same circuit as the original GUPtech Bass Bone, housed in a unique gold box, with only one unit ever made2.
Questions
Is the Bass Bone Gold Rush Edition a different pedal from the regular Bass Bone?
No. GUPtech states it uses exactly the same circuit as the original Bass Bone, housed in a unique gold box. The difference is cosmetic: the Gold Rush Edition is a limited, one-off version of the standard pedal, so its controls and sound follow the original Bass Bone design.
Can I still buy the Bass Bone Gold Rush Edition?
As of 26 October 2026, the maker's product page lists the Gold Rush Edition as sold out. GUPtech also states that only one will ever exist, so it is a single pedal rather than a production run.
Where are GUPtech pedals made?
GUPtech states that all of its pedals are made by the company in Saguenay, Québec, Canada, and the Bass Bone Gold Rush Edition is built there as well.
