The GUPtech Trou D'Beigne Gold Rush Edition is an overdrive pedal from the Canadian maker GUPtech, listed as the "Trou D'Beigne TB Overdrive (Mini Donut)". What sets it apart is not the circuit but the box: GUPtech describes it as "Exactly the same circuit as the original GUPtech Trou D'Beigne, in a unique Gold box."1
What it does
As an overdrive, the Trou D'Beigne sits in the same family of pedals as other GUPtech drives such as the GUPtech Trou D'Beigne TB Overdrive, the GUPtech CocoCast Preamp-Overdrive and the GUPtech Queen of Crow Dual Overdrive. For a player, the practical point is simple: the Gold Rush Edition sounds the same as the standard Trou D'Beigne, because it is the same circuit. The gold enclosure is the only difference. If you are comparing overdrives as a type, the Overdrive Pedals page covers the category more broadly1.
A one-off pedal
GUPtech states that "Only one will ever exist," and the pedal is listed as sold out.1 That makes the Gold Rush Edition a collector's piece rather than something to plan a pedalboard around. Players who want the circuit itself would look to the standard Trou D'Beigne TB Overdrive instead.
The Gold Rush Edition is a single-unit pedal. GUPtech's page also lists a separate Trou D'Beigne Douche Edition, which is likewise marked sold out.1

Questions
Is the Gold Rush Edition different from the regular Trou D'Beigne?
No. GUPtech describes the Gold Rush Edition as exactly the same circuit as the original Trou D'Beigne, the only difference being the unique gold enclosure. The original Trou D'Beigne TB Overdrive remains the standard version of the circuit.
Can I buy the Trou D'Beigne Gold Rush Edition?
No. GUPtech lists it as sold out and states that only one will ever exist, so it is a one-off pedal rather than a production run. Players looking for the same circuit would need the standard Trou D'Beigne TB Overdrive.
