Circuit based onMXR Phase 901

The HeadRush Square Phase is a phaser pedal in HeadRush's Stompboxes line1. A phaser works by splitting the signal and shifting the phase of part of it, then mixing the two back together, which produces the moving, hollow sweep players use on everything from clean rhythm parts to lead lines. For more on how the effect works and how different designs compare, see Phaser Pedals.

Because the Square Phase is presented as a take on the Phase 90, it sits in the same territory as other compact phasers built around that circuit's character. HeadRush also makes the HeadRush Stone Phaser, a separate phaser in its range, so players choosing between the two are comparing different approaches to the same effect family1.
