The Himmelstrutz Elektro Art Fetto is an overdrive and distortion pedal handmade in Sweden by C.J. Himmelstrutz. Premier Guitar's review describes it as "an overdrive/distortion with an amp-like feel," built around a Plexi-like gain structure that keeps clarity and string definition even at high gain1. It sits in the territory covered by overdrive pedals and distortion pedals, with a character of its own.
Controls
The Fetto keeps its top panel simple: three knobs covering output level, gain and tone1.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Volume | Sets the pedal's output level1 |
| Drive | A wide range of gain control1 |
| Tone | Shapes the treble response1 |
Inside the case, the Fetto adds four internal trim pots. Premier Guitar's reviewer described these as offering "even more fine control over the pedal's full range of tone potential," so players willing to take the back plate off can dial in settings beyond what the external knobs reach1.
Build and bypass
The pedal has a small footprint and, in Premier Guitar's words, "a rock solid (and very heavy) case"1. It also features true bypass, so the circuit is out of the signal path when the pedal is off1.
What reviewers said
Premier Guitar's reviewer found the Fetto has "a Plexi-like gain structure with a wide range of Drive control, great clarity and string definition" even at high gain, along with harmonic complexity at low gain1. The review's verdict was a buy recommendation for players looking for "a solid performer with a different character than the crowd"1.
