Hovercraft Ionostrofear Fuzz

The Hovercraft Ionostrofear Fuzz is a fuzz pedal from Hovercraft, a maker that Premier Guitar described as "now dabbling in fuzz" with the Ionostrofear¹. The pedal reviewed by the magazine was the V2.5 version, and the design has moved through several revisions already: V1, V2 and V2.5¹.

What reviewers said

Premier Guitar reviewed the Ionostrofear Fuzz (V2.5) in June 2023 and summed up its findings in four points: "Meaty but sonically sophisticated. Well built. Lots of headroom. Loud"¹. For a player, that combination points to a fuzz that keeps its character at higher volumes and can push an amp hard, rather than a one-trick splatter box. Headroom and overall loudness are worth noting when placing it on a board alongside overdrive pedals or distortion pedals, where level matching matters.
