The Ibanez LS10 Dual Loop Selector is a switching device from Ibanez's Power Series 10 line, made in Japan and produced from 1986 to 1993. It lets you group your effects into two discrete loops and either switch between them or bypass them completely, all with one pedal depression1. It belongs to the broader family of switching pedals.

What it does

The LS10's core job is switching between two different sets of effects with a single press. ToneHome's page, drawing on the Ibanez Power Series pocket manual, gives the example of a "clean chain" using a compressor and chorus switched against a "dirty chain" utilizing a distortion1. Because both loops can be bypassed completely as well as switched between, the pedal can also take both effect groups out of the signal path1.

Level controls and patching options

Each loop has its own level control with +/- 6dB of gain control, so the two chains can be balanced against each other1. The patching is flexible too: according to the manual text ToneHome quotes, "you can use the LS10 as an input master switch or as an output master switch by simply varying your patch connections"1. That means the unit can sit at the front of the amp chain or at its end, depending on how you wire it.

Availability and collectibility

The LS10 was never re-issued, and ToneHome lists its current availability as rare, with collectibility rated high1. For a player hunting one secondhand, that scarcity is the main thing to know: it is a 1980s Japanese unit, not a current production pedal. ToneHome also hosts a downloadable schematic PDF of the LS10 for anyone servicing or studying the unit1.
