The Industrialectric RM-1N is a reverb pedal built for the far end of the reverb spectrum. Pedal of the Day describes it as an "Ambient Chaotic Reverb", covering a range from a light spring or room sound up to a massive ambient chaotic wash, with a unique massive chaotic drone at its core1. It is not only a reverb: the pedal carries boost, overdrive, distortion and fuzz stages going into and out of the reverb, and the gain knobs can be used on their own as well as with the reverb engaged1.

The controls

The RM-1N's front panel covers the usual reverb ground plus a few things most pedals do not have:

ControlWhat it does
Mixfrom dry to wet and everything in between1
Tonetone control for deep reverb1
Master Levelmaster level to tame everything1
Droneadds modulation2

Alongside the main bypass footswitch there is a second, momentary footswitch. Pedal of the Day calls it a "momentary footswitch for oscillation on the fly or creating long beautiful trails"1. Delicious Audio's buying guide, by Christopher Scapelliti and Paolo De Gregorio, adds that the Momentary footswitch triggers self-oscillation and can be used to control the reverb's decay2.

Two outputs

The reverb module has two distinct outputs, and you can select between them or use both at once1. For a player running a stereo rig or two amps, that means the two sides of the reverb can be sent to different places rather than summed inside the pedal.

Power and build

The pedal is powered with a standard negative 9V adapter, of the Boss or One Spot type1. Industrialectric builds it on a professional PCB, completely hand made from scratch1.

What reviewers said

Pedal of the Day's reviewer was clear that the normal sounds are not the point1:

"While you are able to get some lovely 'normal' reverb sounds here, that's not what this machine is about. Rather, it's a"
Pedal of the Day, 30 July 20231

The same review describes the RM-1N overall as an exploratory vessel to push the boundaries of what should be possible with an effects pedal, and says it does so very, very well overall1. Delicious Audio places it among hybrid reverbs that pair the reverb with modulation and gain, noting the Drone knob's modulation and the momentary switch's self-oscillation as the features that set it apart2.
