The JHS Lime Aid is a compressor pedal for bass and guitar, made by JHS Pedals. It grew out of the company's Pulp N Peel guitar compressor: JHS describes it as a response to demand for "a truly transparent and useful bass compress[or]" built on that pedal's popularity.1
What it does
The Lime Aid takes the Pulp N Peel concept and aims it at bass players. JHS says one of its main advantages is "the low end response and the ability to keep untouched, clean signal along side your compressed tone", meaning the pedal blends an uncompressed clean signal with the compressed one so the low end stays intact while the compressed tone sits on top.1
For the sound itself, JHS's own description is: "Dynamics, punch and clarity are a few of the things that this unit will bring to your tone."1

The hand painted enclosure
The version on JHS's product page is the Lime Aid Hand Paint, with an enclosure that is hand painted rather than finished in a standard printed graphic.1
The Lime Aid is a bass-oriented take on the JHS Pulp N Peel compressor. Players comparing JHS bass pedals may also come across the JHS Low Drive Hand Paint overdrive and the JHS 4 Wheeler preamp, which cover drive and preamp duties rather than compression.
