The LEHLE MIDI JUNCTION is a MIDI adaptor SGoS from Lehle, the German maker of switching pedals. Its job is simple: it lets four SGoS products connect to a standard MIDI jack, so a MIDI setup can reach pedals like the Lehle 1 at 3, Lehle 3 at 1 and Lehle D-Loop1. It is currently listed as available1.
What it does
The MIDI Junction sits between a standard MIDI jack and up to four Lehle SGoS pedals. Lehle describes it as a "MIDI adaptor SGoS, four SGoS products connected to a standard MIDI jack"1. For a player running a MIDI controller or a MIDI-equipped rig, it is the piece that brings the SGoS switching pedals into that setup, so programming and mode changes can be handled over MIDI rather than at each pedal.
Lehle names the products it suits as the Lehle Dual SGoS, the Lehle D.Loop SGoS, the Lehle 1at3 SGoS and the Lehle 3at1 SGoS, along with the polymer nut for 1/4" jack sockets2. Those pedals are covered individually on the site's pages for the Lehle 1 at 3, Lehle 3 at 1 and Lehle D-Loop, and more broadly under MIDI Pedals.
What it is not for
Despite the connectors, this is not an analog switcher. Joki Schaller of Lehle addressed this directly in a technical piece on the Lehle blog3:
"although it has a 5-pin DIN connector and 4 jacks it's not suitable for switching amp channels or any other kind of anal"3
The point matters if you are shopping for a way to switch amp channels: the MIDI Junction carries MIDI data between Lehle SGoS pedals and a standard MIDI jack, and Lehle says it is not suitable for switching amp channels or any other kind of analog switching3. For amp channel or general signal switching, a switching pedal is the tool, and the site's Switching Pedals page covers that category.
Compliance and availability
Lehle lists the MIDI Junction as RoHS III compliant, meaning it meets the current RoHS restriction-of-hazardous-substances requirements, and as available12.
