The Majik Box Rocket Fuel is an analog booster overdrive pedal built to the specifications of Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich. It puts two sections in one box, a boost and an overdrive, and the maker designed them to be used both separately and in series, which is the way Aldrich himself normally uses the pedal1.
The goal, according to the maker, was to make a box that could replace a vintage boost and EQ unit that had been in Aldrich's rack for most of his career. The overdrive side was tuned to produce what RockBoard's PedalPedia describes as harmonic richness, midrange punch and carefully tailored low end, with a special boost section alongside it1.
What it does
The Rocket Fuel works as two pedals in one enclosure. Each section can be switched on its own, so the boost can be used alone to push an amp or another pedal, and the overdrive can be used alone for its own voice. Run in series, the sections feed one another, which is how Aldrich normally runs it1.
The pedal came out of nearly two years of R&D, and early versions were already in use before release: Aldrich used them on some parts of Whitesnake's Good to Be Bad CD1.

Where it sits in Majik Box's range
Majik Box built its name on artist-designed overdrives and fuzzes. The Rocket Fuel is the Doug Aldrich pedal in the range, sitting alongside other signature designs such as the Majik Box Body Blow Jake E. Lee Mod, a modified overdrive built to Jake E. Lee's specifications, and the Majik Box Kryptonite Overdrive. For a wider look at the category, see Overdrive Pedals and Boost Pedals1.

Questions
Can the boost and overdrive sections be used on their own?
Yes. The Rocket Fuel combines a boost section and an overdrive section, and the maker designed the two sections to be used both separately and in series, which is how Doug Aldrich normally uses the pedal. Running them in series puts the boost into the overdrive for added push.
Who is the Rocket Fuel designed for?
The pedal was built to Doug Aldrich's specifications as a replacement for a vintage boost and EQ unit that had been in his rack for most of his career. Aldrich used early versions of the Rocket Fuel on some parts of Whitesnake's Good to Be Bad album.
