The Mojo Hand FX GRRocker is an original overdrive pedal made in collaboration with Girls Rock Grand Rapids, with the enclosure featuring art from the young people involved in the program. The maker lists it at $150.00 USD and describes it as currently available on Bandcamp1.
What it does
The GRRocker is an overdrive, the pedal category that pushes an amp or models that push for a warmer, more driven tone; see Overdrive Pedals for how the type sits alongside Distortion Pedals and Fuzz Pedals. Mojo Hand FX calls it "an original overdrive design featuring art from the talented youth involved in the program"1.
Where it came from
The pedal has a documented history with the organization it benefits:
- Mojo Hand FX's GRRocker is an overdrive pedal created in collaboration with Girls Rock Grand Rapids, with art from youth involved in the program, priced at $150.00 USD and currently available on the organization's Bandcamp1.
The GRRocker is a limited edition release sold through Girls Rock Grand Rapids' Bandcamp page rather than a standard catalog pedal12.
In the Mojo Hand FX range
The GRRocker sits in a maker's range that includes other overdrive designs, such as the Mojo Hand FX Sericon, the Mojo Hand FX Rock City dual overdrive, the Mojo Hand FX DMBL Drive and the discontinued Mojo Hand FX Odessa, which Delicious Audio reports was the starting point for the Rock City2.
