The Moody Sounds Mewtone is an envelope filter pedal: a pedal that sweeps a filter in response to how hard you play, producing the automatic wah-like "quack" that players associate with funk and filtered lead sounds. It is made by Moody Sounds, a builder based in Sweden.1
What it does
An envelope filter, sometimes called an auto-wah, listens to the dynamics of your playing and opens and closes a filter accordingly: pick harder and the filter sweeps further, play softly and it stays subdued.
