The MOSKY Silver Horse is a compact overdrive and boost pedal from Mosky. Mosky lists its type as overdrive/boost, and the circuit is based on the Klon, the design behind the well-known Klon Centaur transparent overdrive12. That makes it one of the many Klon-style pedals on the market, and Tone Island's Adam Connell called it "the cheapest Klon style pedal around"3.
What it does
As an overdrive/boost pedal, the Silver Horse sits in the same category as other boost pedals and overdrive pedals: it pushes the front of your amp harder for more grit and level. Its Klon-based circuit places it among the clones of the Centaur, a circuit players associate with transparent overdrive, meaning it aims to add gain without heavily coloring the base tone of the guitar and amp12.
Tone Island reviewed it in a buying guide to Klon Centaur clones. Connell's verdict was measured3:
"the pots & jack sockets don't feel like they're particularly great quality. That's to be expected for the money."
Overall he found the pedal wasn't terrible but didn't blow his mind, a fair summary of where the cheapest option in a crowded field of Klon clones lands3.
