The Movall Rock Highway is a multi-effects pedal from MoVall that puts three circuits in a single enclosure: an independent overdrive, a distortion and a delay. MusicRadar's review team summed it up as "three pedals in one, with independent overdrive, distortion and delay circuits, each wired to a tri"1. The pedal is made in China1.
What it does
Each of the three circuits works on its own, and the pedal adds an onboard effects loop that lets you place other pedals between the overdrive/distortion section and the delay1. That means a compressor, EQ or modulation pedal can sit in the middle of the chain rather than before or after the whole unit.
A small OD/DIST switch sets the order of the two gain stages: "you can choose to run the overdrive into the distortion circuit or vice versa with the small OD/DIST switch"1. Running the overdrive first is the arrangement many players use when stacking gain pedals, and it is the one MusicRadar's reviewer preferred.
What reviewers said
MusicRadar's reviewer found the overdrive circuit reminiscent of a Tube Screamer: "The overdrive comes over like a classic Tube Screamer, transparent yet with a bit more grunt"1. On the pedal as a whole, the verdict was positive: "Actually, all three effects sound fantastic"1.
On value, the reviewer wrote: "At just below 100 sheets it seems like a lot of spec for the money"1. The reviewer also noted preferring the overdrive-into-distortion arrangement for gain without compromising clarity and note separation1.
