The Black LTD. Darling Fuzz is a fuzz pedal from Mr. Black, and the LTD in the name marks it as a limited edition rather than a standard catalog pedal1. Mr. Black describes it in its own words as:
"That warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you hear that special someone's voice, sustaining you throughout the day and making your ears explode with delight."
Price and availability
The maker's product page lists a regular price of $199.95 and a sale price of $179.951. Because it is a limited edition pedal, it is not a permanent part of the Mr. Black range the way a standard production pedal would be.
Limited edition pedals can sell out and may not return. If the Darling Fuzz interests you, the maker's own product page is the place to see whether it is currently in stock.
Hearing it
Mr. Black hosts two demo audio clips for the Darling Fuzz, both linked from the product page: "Seer" (2:08), played through a clean amp, and "Darling Storm" (1:06), played through a dirty amp1. Between the two, they show how the pedal sits against both sides of an amp's character, which is often the first question a player has about a fuzz: how it behaves when the amp is already working and how it behaves when it is not.
Where it sits in the Mr. Black range
Mr. Black also makes heavier-leaning fuzz and dirt pedals, including the Mr. Black SludgeMaster and the Mr Black Doomstick. The Darling Fuzz, by the maker's own description, aims at a warmer, more affectionate corner of the fuzz family than those names suggest1.
