The NativeAudio Frybread Fuzz is a transistor-based fuzz pedal, announced in April 2024. NativeAudio describes it as "meticulously tuned to deliver everything from power-amp punch to blistering fuzz," placing it in the territory between a boost-style push and full fuzz saturation1.
What it does
The Frybread Fuzz uses a transistor-based circuit rather than an IC design, and NativeAudio built it around what the company calls a unique gain architecture paired with an integrated pickup simulator. That pickup simulator is the pedal's distinguishing feature: it is meant to give "a comprehensive fuzz solution regardless of signal chain position," so the pedal responds consistently whether it sits before or after buffers and other effects in your chain1.
The control layout is deliberately streamlined. NativeAudio describes it as "a streamlined interface for a versatile fuzz experience," keeping the panel simple while covering a range of fuzz tones1.
Design
The enclosure artwork features two characters, Stan the Pan and Frybread Man, which NativeAudio calls "the dynamic duo"1.
