The Morning Brew Compressor is a compressor pedal from PB&J Pedals. A compressor evens out the difference between your quietest and loudest notes, and the Morning Brew does that job with a simple control layout. Writing for Pedal of the Day in May 2015, reviewer Mike B described it as "the next offering from PB&J, the Morning Brew Compressor"1.
What it does
The pedal's controls are simple. The Level knob sets the output volume, and the reviewer found it does more than just match levels: "Level control is awesome here, as there is a good bit of boost to be had, depending how much you need to drive your signal"1. That makes it useful as a clean volume lift as well as a compressor, in the same way some players use a boost pedal to push an amp or an overdrive pedal harder.
What reviewers said
Ease of use was the standout point in the Pedal of the Day review. Compressors are often seen as fiddly, with several interacting controls to balance, but the Morning Brew was not1:
"Compressors have always been a tricky pedal to figure out for me, and this one was easy to set up and dial in some great"1
Mike B's review, published on 25 May 2015, reports a positive experience with the pedal's controls and its sounds1.
