The Sweet Clarity Junior is an overdrive pedal from PB&J Pedals. Pedal of the Day described it as "a slimmed-down version of PB&J's larger Sweet Clarity Overdrive"1. It sits in the overdrive corner of the PB&J range, alongside pedals like the Surf Drive, Viper Drive and Malibu Drive.
What it does
The Sweet Clarity Junior is an overdrive pedal, the kind of effect that pushes an amp or shapes a driven tone without the heavier clipping of a distortion or fuzz pedal. PB&J Pedals built it as a smaller-footprint alternative to its full-size Sweet Clarity Overdrive, so a player who wanted that pedal's approach in a more compact enclosure had the Junior as the option1.
Where it sits in the PB&J range
Pedal of the Day covered several PB&J Pedals overdrives around the same period, and the Sweet Clarity Junior is the compact one in that group:
The Sweet Clarity Junior was featured by Pedal of the Day in November 2014. The larger Sweet Clarity Overdrive it was based on is a separate pedal, and the two are not interchangeable on a pedalboard: the Junior trades the bigger enclosure for a smaller footprint.
