The Pedal Pawn Freaky Fuzz Big Box Artist Series is a fuzz pedal built in a large-format, vintage-inspired enclosure as a strictly limited edition of the standard Pedal Pawn Freaky Fuzz. Only 15 units exist, each enclosure painted completely by hand by psychedelic artist T. McGuire, and the run is sold out.1
The circuit and what it does
Pedal Pawn describes the Freaky Fuzz as "Powered by our unique three-silicon-transistor design." According to the maker, "the Freaky Fuzz delivers huge output, aggressive saturation and amp-pushing power while keeping notes fat and articulate." A powerful tone control shapes the top end.1
Three-transistor fuzz designs of this kind put out far more level than a typical two-transistor fuzz face style circuit, which is where the amp-pushing character Pedal Pawn describes comes from. Players who want to hear how the circuit sits among the maker's other fuzzes can compare it with the Pedal Pawn Fuzz or the Pedal Pawn NOS CV7005 Fuzz (LTD Edition), or read more on the Fuzz Pedals type page1.
The Artist Series big box
The Artist Series treatment is what sets this version apart from the standard Freaky Fuzz1:
- Each of the 15 enclosures is painted completely by hand by psychedelic artist T. McGuire1
- The finished artwork is sealed beneath a protective gloss clear coat1
- Every pedal includes its own Certificate of Authenticity, individually numbered and signed by the artist and by Pedal Pawn1
- The enclosure measures 188 mm x 119.5 mm, a large-format vintage-inspired box1
This is a sold-out limited edition of 15 pedals. The price was listed at £347.00 GBP, with VAT included for UK customers; orders outside the UK may incur local import duties or taxes.1
Power and switching
The pedal runs on standard 9V center-negative power, with a battery option Pedal Pawn notes specifically for this big box version. True bypass switching keeps the pedal out of the signal path when it is off.1

Questions
Is the Pedal Pawn Freaky Fuzz Big Box Artist Series still available?
No. Pedal Pawn's product page shows the Freaky Fuzz Big Box Artist Series as sold out. It was a strictly limited run of 15 individually hand-painted enclosures, so once those 15 pedals were gone there were no more. The standard Freaky Fuzz remains a separate product for players who want the circuit without the big-box artwork.
How many Freaky Fuzz Big Box Artist Series pedals were made?
Just 15. Each enclosure was painted completely by hand by psychedelic artist T. McGuire, and every one of the 15 pedals includes its own Certificate of Authenticity, individually numbered and signed by the artist and by Pedal Pawn.
Does the Freaky Fuzz Big Box run on a battery?
Yes. The big box version takes standard 9V center-negative power or a battery, a battery option Pedal Pawn notes specifically for this big box version.
Is the Freaky Fuzz Big Box true bypass?
Yes. Pedal Pawn specifies true bypass switching, so the pedal is out of the signal path entirely when off.
How big is the Freaky Fuzz Big Box enclosure?
The enclosure measures 188 mm by 119.5 mm, a large-format, vintage-inspired box rather than a standard compact pedal enclosure.
Who painted the Freaky Fuzz Big Box artwork?
Psychedelic artist T. McGuire painted each enclosure completely by hand. The finished artwork is sealed beneath a protective gloss clear coat.
