The Pladask Elektrisk VRANG is an analog distortion effect in pedal form, made by the Norwegian builder Pladask Elektrisk1. It sits in the distortion family, alongside related drive types like overdrive and fuzz.
Power and bypass
The VRANG runs on a standard 9VDC center negative supply with a 2.1mm plug, and draws 50mA1. It does not support battery operation, so a supply is required1. Bypass is relay based true bypass, which switches the pedal out of the signal path with a relay rather than an electronic buffer1.
The VRANG has no battery option: plan for a 9VDC center negative power supply on your board1.
Background and documentation
The pedal came out of a Workshop collaboration with BandOrg, and Pladask Elektrisk makes both the schematic and the manual available on the product page1. That openness about the circuit is unusual among pedal makers and gives owners direct access to the documentation.
