The Shin's Music Dumbloid ODS Overdrive Special is a Dumble-style overdrive pedal, one of a family of Dumbloid overdrives handmade by Shin Suzuki of Japan's Shin's Music1. Its controls cover gain, cut and presence, tone and volume, with a DRV (gain) control at the heart of the circuit1.
Controls
The pedal's four controls cover the usual overdrive functions, with the Accent control acting as a Cut/Presence shaping knob1.
The famous JAZZ/ROCK switch lets you choose between a softer and harder response, which is the pedal's main character control beyond the knobs1.
The Dumbloid family
The ODS Overdrive Special sits among several related Dumbloid designs covered elsewhere on the site: the Shin's Music Dumbloid Standard, the Shin's Music Dumbloid Special, the Shin's Music Dumbloid-X ODS and the Shin's Music Dumbloid Overdrive Special. For where a pedal like this fits on a board, see Overdrive Pedals.
