The SiB Electronics Mr. Echo Plus is a delay pedal, and the big brother version of one of SiB Electronics' most popular pedals, the Mr. Echo Delay. Pedal of the Day featured it in April 2016, describing it as an echo machine built for players who want more than the standard model offers.1

Controls and how it works

The Delay knob sets the delay time across a range from 30ms to 550ms. Pedal of the Day found that range generous: "With a nice range from 30ms to 550ms, there's enough delay on tap for most situations." At the short end of that range, the reviewer found the pedal suited to "cool slap back sounds and excellent lead tones, too."1

ControlWhat it does

The expression input is a top-mounted jack, so a passive expression pedal can sit in front of the pedal and sweep the delay time while you play. The Delay control sets the maximum range of that sweep, which means you dial in the span first and then move within it hands free.1

The Slam switch is the pedal's second footswitch, placed in the bottom left corner. Pedal of the Day called it "one of the coolest features of this pedal."1

Build

The Mr. Echo Plus is made in the USA from abuse-resistant steel. Pedal of the Day put it plainly: the enclosure is there "to ensure of lifetime of beautiful echoes with no damage."1

What reviewers said

Pedal of the Day's 2016 review came away positive on both sound and capability. On the pedal's overall impression, the reviewer wrote: "we were nothing if not impressed." The review highlighted the pedal's suitability for slap back sounds and lead tones in particular, alongside the Slam switch and expression pedal control as standout features.1
