The Underground Accelerator Handwired Special Edition is a limited-run version of the Underground Accelerator, a tube preamp pedal from Sushi Box FX. The Handwired Special Edition is individually serialized and built as a limited run, with a laser-cut wood faceplate inset into the chassis and a robust ceramic tube socket holding the pedal's tube1. It is listed at $400.00 US on the maker's site2.
What it does
The standard Underground Accelerator carries a 3-band EQ, and the Handwired Special Edition builds on that same pedal3. According to RockBoard's PedalPedia, the Underground Accelerator is the successor to both the Particle Accelerator and the London Underground, two earlier Sushi Box FX designs4. Players looking at the London Underground line can also see the London Underground X, and the broader category is covered on the Preamp Pedals page.
The standard Underground Accelerator is listed as Archived on Sushi Box FX's site, so the Handwired Special Edition is the version the maker currently presents3.
