The Vendetta Overdrive is an overdrive pedal from Taurus Pedals, filed by Pedal of the Day under both Overdrive and Distortion, meaning it works in the territory between a light overdrive push and a fuller distortion. Pedal of the Day featured it in a video review published on February 7, 2015, presented by Kyle, who introduced it as "The Vendetta Overdrive from Taurus Pedals"1.
What it does
The pedal's dual classification matters for a player shopping in this area: an overdrive pedal is usually used to push an amp or add grit to a clean tone, while a distortion pedal provides heavier clipping on its own. A pedal listed in both categories is typically voiced so that its gain control spans that range. For how the Vendetta Overdrive itself sounds and how its controls are laid out, the published video review from Pedal of the Day is the main documented coverage1.
The Vendetta sits in Taurus Pedals' overdrive and distortion territory: Pedal of the Day filed it under Overdrive / Distortion when it ran a video review by Kyle on Saturday, February 7, 20151.
