The Thorpy FX Camoflange Flanger MkII is a fully analog flanger built around an original circuit inspired, at least in part, by the vintage Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress. It was designed as a collaboration with Dan Coggins, the former Lovetone pedal designer, and the 2024 MkII version adds stereo outputs and an updated circuit running internally at 18 volts for increased headroom1.
MkII versus MkI
The MkII is a meaningful update to the original Camoflange, and the differences matter for how you might use it on a board1:
| MkI | MkII | |
|---|---|---|
| Outputs | Mono | Stereo, with wet and dry outputs1 |
| Internal operation | 9 volts1 | 18 volts, for increased headroom1 |
| Circuit | Original | Updated1 |
The stereo capability is specific to the MkII. The original MkI Camoflange was mono and ran internally at 9 volts, so a used MkI will not give you the separate wet and dry outputs or the same headroom1.
Controls and what they do
The MkII carries a Harmonics knob alongside the flanger's usual controls. According to Delicious Audio's Paolo De Gregorio, "the Harmonics one adds odd harmonics to the tone, opening up the flanger's sonic palette, in conjunction with the Manual"1. In practice, that means the Harmonics control works with the Manual control to shape the character of the flanging effect rather than acting as a standalone tone knob.
Design and build
The collaboration with Dan Coggins is central to the pedal's identity. Coggins designed pedals under the Lovetone name before the Camoflange, and the Camoflange's circuit is an original design rather than a straight clone of the Electric Mistress it draws inspiration from1.
The enclosure is a laser cut and laser etched stainless steel box finished in an MTO green powder coat base. It measures 100mm wide by 125mm long by 53mm high1.
Power
The MkII runs on 9-volt operation with a standard DC input, like most pedals. The updated circuit runs internally at 18 volts, which Thorpy FX says gives increased headroom1. The original MkI ran internally at 9 volts1.

Questions
Is the Thorpy FX Camoflange stereo?
The MkII version is. The 2024 MkII ups the ante with stereo out, in the form of separate wet and dry outputs. The original MkI Camoflange was mono. If you want to run the flanged signal and the clean signal to different places, the MkII's two outputs make that possible without extra routing gear.
Who designed the Thorpy FX Camoflange?
The Camoflange was designed as a collaboration with Dan Coggins, the former Lovetone pedal designer. Lovetone pedals such as the Flange With No Name have a dedicated following among players after dense, unusual modulation sounds, and Coggins's involvement shaped the Camoflange's original circuit.
What voltage does the Camoflange MkII run on?
The MkII runs on 9-volt operation with a standard DC input, but the updated circuit runs internally at 18 volts, which Thorpy FX says gives increased headroom. The original MkI ran internally at 9 volts.
Is the Camoflange analog or digital?
The Camoflange is fully analog. Delicious Audio describes it as a fully analog flanger designed from the ground up, with an original circuit inspired at least in part by the vintage Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress.
What power supply does the Camoflange MkII need?
The MkII takes a standard 9-volt DC input. Although the pedal runs internally at 18 volts for increased headroom, that conversion happens inside the pedal, so a normal 9-volt DC supply is what you feed it.
