ThunderTomate Over-Drive+ Rev G

The ThunderTomate Over-Drive+ Rev G is an overdrive pedal described by its reviewer as a natural, organic overdrive with three selectable voices: Stock, Bright and Full¹. It is the seventh iteration of a circuit that has been around since the early 2000s, and it is available through the ThunderTomate website¹.

What it does

The pedal carries four controls: Level, Drive and Tone knobs, plus a Voice switch with Stock, Bright and Full settings¹. Guitar Pedal X describes the voices this way: Stock is balanced, Bright offers elegant cut-through, and Full provides a full-frequency boost with the Drive control down¹. That makes the Full voice usable as a clean-ish boost into an amp or another drive, at least as the reviewer describes it.

The reviewer's overall verdict was that the pedal sits in familiar territory for players who know the classics¹:

He also noted the pedal "had a wonderfully balanced tone, and is beautifully neutral on Stock Voice, elegantly cutting on the Bright Voice"¹. One caveat from the same review: it could use more output level¹.

Where it came from

The circuit dates back to the early 2000s, and the Rev G is its seventh iteration¹. That long run suggests a design that has been revised repeatedly rather than replaced, though the review does not detail what changed between revisions.

Price and availability

Guitar Pedal X's June 2026 review lists the Over-Drive+ Rev G at €149 via the ThunderTomate website¹. That price is given in euros; no US dollar figure is stated.
