The Visual Sound Vans Warped Distortion is a limited edition distortion pedal from Visual Sound, shown at Summer NAMM 2009 as one of the company's newest V2 Series pedals alongside the Open Road Overdrive and Truetone Clean Boost1. Premier Guitar's Joe Coffey described its character as "grinding, low-end distortion, which is pertinent to a lot of the Warped Tour" style of playing, tying the pedal to the Vans Warped Tour scene it is named for1.
Controls
The pedal keeps things simple with three controls, named in the brand's own style rather than the usual labels1.
| Control | Usual equivalent | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Grind | Drive | Sets the amount of distortion1 |
| Edge | Tone | Shapes the treble character1 |
| Loud | Volume | Sets the output level1 |
Context in the Visual Sound range
The Vans Warped Distortion was one of three V2 Series pedals Visual Sound presented at Summer NAMM 2009 in Nashville, together with the Open Road Overdrive and the Truetone Clean Boost1. As a limited edition release, it sat apart from the company's standard line, which included pedals like the Son of Hyde V2 and, later, the budget Garagetone Chainsaw1.
"The Visual Sound guys were really proud of its grinding, low-end distortion, which is pertinent to a lot of the Warped Tour" style.
