The King Bee Overdrive is a drive pedal from Walker A&E, a maker of compact effects for electric guitar. Pedal of the Day, the effects blog, filed it under Overdrive / Distortion, placing it in the territory shared by overdrive pedals and distortion pedals: pushing an amp or a clean signal into breakup, from light grit to fuller saturation1.
What it does
The pedal's published coverage is a video review posted by Pedal of the Day on Saturday, August 23, 2014, submitted by a reviewer named Kyle1. The blog introduced it as a video review "all the way from RUSSIA!", indicating the reviewer was based there1.
"We've got another VIDEO review for you today, all the way from RUSSIA!"
Beyond the maker, the effect category and the review itself, the published record on the King Bee is thin. The review identifies the pedal as an overdrive/distortion from Walker A&E, and it was submitted by Kyle. A player comparing it with other drives would need to weigh it against the wider field of overdrive pedals on general terms rather than on published specifications1.
