The Xotic XXP-1 is an expression pedal, the kind of treadle you plug into the expression input of another pedal to control a parameter with your foot: delay time on a delay pedal, mix on a reverb pedal, speed on a tremolo pedal, and so on. Xotic bills it with the line "ONE PEDAL. THREE EXPRESSIONS", meaning the XXP-1 is built to cover three expression functions in a single unit rather than requiring separate pedals for each1.
Xotic introduced the XXP-1 as a new product, and it is listed for end users in the Xotic Online Shop as of October 2025 under model number XXP-12.
What it controls and how it connects
The heart of the pedal is its treadle expression output, rated at 20K ohm and switchable between TRS and TS wiring1. That switch matters in practice: some pedals read expression from a stereo (TRS) plug, while others expect a mono (TS) plug, so a pedal that can be set either way can be matched to the target device without adapters or rewired cables.
The XXP-1 also adds an EXP2 toe switch, a momentary TS switch at the toe position of the treadle. Xotic describes this as adding "expanded control options", giving a second, on-off style control in addition to the continuous treadle movement1.
What Xotic says it is for
The manual states the pedal's intended use plainly: "This product is intended solely for processing electric guitar audio signals."3 In other words, Xotic positions it as part of an electric guitar signal chain, sitting alongside the expression pedals category on this site.
Xotic's product page carries a demo video, "Xotic Expression Pedal XXP-1 Demo by Mike Hermans", with guitarist Mike Hermans showing the pedal in use1.
