The Yerasov Delay DM-6 is a delay pedal from Yerasov, a maker whose other pedals MusicRadar has also reviewed. It is a digital unit, but Yerasov says it has designed the DM-6 to sound like an old-school analog delay, with repeats voiced with a warm tone that blends nicely with guitar. Its delay times cover what MusicRadar's reviewer Trevor Curwen called "the most practical of guitar applications"1.
What it does
The DM-6 keeps things simple. It produces delay repeats intended to sit warmly behind the guitar rather than fight with it, and its delay range is aimed at the everyday uses most players put a delay to. The repeat knob is, in Curwen's words, "nicely graduated to get the number just right", meaning the number of repeats can be dialled in precisely rather than jumping from one to runaway self-oscillation1.
Like many delays, it uses buffered bypass rather than true bypass, which is worth knowing if you plan the order of pedals on a board1.
What reviewers said
MusicRadar's review, by Trevor Curwen, gave the pedal a plain-spoken verdict:
"No-frills delay that will do the job with no fuss."
That sums up the DM-6's place: a straightforward delay for players who want a usable repeat sound without extra modes, tap tempo or menus1.
