The Electrix EQ Killer is a half-rack band-kill, or isolator, EQ. It splits a stereo source into low, mid and high bands, each with its own level control, so a player or DJ can cut any band out of the sound entirely. It is now a legacy product, preserved by Electrix as standalone hardware with no drivers or software downloads1.
The controls
The EQ Killer keeps things simple: three independent level controls, one each for the low, mid and high bands1. That is the whole idea of a band-kill or isolator design. Instead of the sweepable bands of a conventional equalization pedal, each control sets how much of its frequency band passes through, and turning it down removes that band from the mix.
Inputs, outputs and mounting
The unit is built around stereo RCA connections, which suits turntables and line-level sources alike1.
- Inputs: two stereo RCA paths, switchable between phono and line1
- Outputs: a stereo RCA main output, plus a stereo RCA effects send and return loop1
- Mounting: 10-inch rack or desktop; two Mod units join into a 19-inch rack1
The EQ Killer is a legacy product. Electrix preserves it as standalone hardware, so there are no drivers, software downloads or product-specific FAQ entries to hunt down1.
