Glossary
auto-wah
Auto-wah is a cyclic filter that produces an automatic wah effect1. Sources describe it as a filter effect associated with funk tones, quacky filter sounds, and envelope filter style pedals234. It appears in dedicated pedals such as the Mooer Envelope, a compact auto-wah designed for both guitar and bass5, and in units whose filters respond to playing attack and touch4. Some pedals can modify the effect, turning an ordinary auto-wah into a step filter or an envelope filter into an auto wah67.
