Baxandall
Baxandall refers to a tone control circuit based on Peter Baxandall's published work from 1952, used for its ability to blend frequencies12. It has long been used in Hi-Fi systems because it produces gentle EQ curves, and it also appears in some guitar amps23. In pedal designs it appears as active two-band or three-band EQ sections with bass and treble controls, sometimes with a midrange control added alongside456. Examples include the Orange Bax Bangeetar's studio-style active EQ, the Boss FA-1's active two-band section, and the two-band Baxandall tone stack in the Aion FX Perseid Bass Drive786.
