graphic EQ
A graphic EQ is an equalizer that represents the EQ curve graphically with banks of sliders1. Graphic EQ pedals appear in rigs as standalone units, like the Mesa/Boogie Five-Band and MXR 10-band, or built into other pedals, such as a compressor with an integrated pre-compression graphic EQ23. Players have used them to sculpt tone, including boosting 400Hz with a Boss GE-74.
