Glossary
ping-pong
Sources describe it as a selectable delay type on units such as the TC Electronic Nova Delay, which lists ping-pong among its six stereo delay types1, and the Boss DD-8, which offers a panning mode for ping-pong delay effects2. It is associated with wide stereo motion, as on the Keeley RK2000 Funk Siren Delay, whose pitch-shifted ping-pong delays are described as producing wide stereo movement3. Some units pair it with other configurations: the Strymon Dig offers series, parallel, and ping-pong setups for its two delay sections4, and the Walrus Audio Meraki offers parallel, ping-pong, and series modes5. One source contrasts it with smooth left-to-right panning, calling ping-pong echo unmusical by comparison6.
